Early Childhood Education for children living in extreme poverty
Centro Infantil de los Ángeles provides quality daycare and preschool education to children with the greatest need in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Early childhood education assures brain development and puts our children on an equal plane with those from more affluent families as they enter primary school. While their children are in a safe and nurturing environment, the parents are able to find work or advance their education.
Across Mexico, only 4.8% of children under age 5 have access to early childhood education — an even smaller percentage for families in extreme poverty. This lack of access has lifelong consequences.
More than 25 years ago, Centro Infantil de los Angeles was formed to provide the benefits of early childhood education to the children of underpriveleged families, primarily led by single mothers.
Our mission is to provide free, safe, nurturing, and stimulating early childhood education to children ages 3-months to 6-years from the lowest-income families in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Our achievements are the result of a united team — our children, educators, staff, and volunteers working together to create opportunities that can transform lives.
